Rufty Portrait Design takes a personalized approach to creating your portraits. The photographer will also provide guidance on clothing choices, makeup, and hair styling.
On the day of the shoot, the photographer will work with you to create a relaxed atmosphere where you feel comfortable being yourself. They will use various lighting techniques and angles to capture your best features and create a stunning portrait.
You should wear clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Solid colors are generally best, as they don't distract from the subject's face. Avoid busy patterns or logos, as they can be distracting in the final portrait.
A typical portrait session takes around 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity of the shoot and the number of poses desired.

Southern Style Show House - Melissa Rufty Design Studio ... A rich oil portrait of Creole icon Marie Laveau casts a watchful eye over visitors upon entering ... When asked by Traditional Home to do a bold take on Southern design, for their inaugural Southern Style Showhouse held in New Orleans, we knew we needed to do something unique and impactful to represent our city. We collaborated with a budding textile designer to produce custom color marbleized fabric panels which we used to envelope the foyer and stair walls. Each panel was done by hand with colors reminiscent of the sun-kissed terra cotta buildings seen throughout Charleston, Savannah and the Vieux Carre. Dec 31, 2012 ... The Louisiana designer seamlessly melds opulence and family heirlooms with Southern hospitality. The Louisiana designer seamlessly melds opulence and family heirlooms with Southern hospitality Decorating, Melissa Miles Rufty says, is like helping to take a small company to the next level. “You don’t get rid of everything and start over—you build on what’s there,” says the New Orleans–based designer, who began her career in advertising and marketing. Rufty has honed an aesthetic that’s opulent yet approachable, crafting settings where bold color—a library lacquered kingfisher-blue, say—meets contemporary upholstery, modern art, and antique accents that are often family heirlooms. “Southerners are all about history and a sense of place, of where you come from,” the South Carolina native explains, adding that her goal is to create interiors whose components “don’t look like they all arrived the same day.” Hospitality and comfort are part of the package: Small tables stand at the ready for holding drinks; banquettes nestle beneath staircases for intimate chats. Rufty, who set up her practice a dozen years ago, is now hitting her stride. And with recent projects in London and New York, it seems her spirited style is no longer a Big Easy secret. mmrinteriors.com This 100-Year-Old Upstate Barn Was Transformed Into a Homey Office The 925-square-foot New York space started in in total disrepair 7 Creative Stone Slab Ideas That Go Beyond Countertops Genius uses that will rock your interiors 39 Kitchen Cabinet Design Ideas to Give Your Space an Ultimate Makeover
