Start your review of Old Wash House Laundromat. been a long long time since I been to a laundromat, like 20+ years, but 1st time camping for a long time & needed some clothes washed. Place was clean, cost fine considering cost of everything post-covid, change machine, vending machines, $4 a wash load, $1.25 soap, & 25 cents for 7 minutes of dryer (took 2-3 cycles, typical from past experience), so worked out great for me. Wish there were power outlets to charge my mobile devices but then that would probably draw in non-patrons off the street, went to the public library for that. Overall this place isn't bad. It's pretty much the only decent laundromat in harbor/brookings. The large size washer and dryers are a plus. Change machine works ok. I would give a higher rating but the manager/employee lady here is usually pretty rude if you have to ask about their outdated machines jamming up or eating your quarters. And be prepared for scummy trashy people here especially on free homeless wash Tuesdays which i avoid. Wish I could give this business a better rating, as I've used their services several times now while in the area without incident. An overall decent place for what it is despite the over-priced machines but unfortunately, I had an experience that was simply uncalled for. An older, heavyset, female employee was not just rude to me this morning, but blatantly insulting. Not being laundromat savvy & just using the facility during a camping/remote working adventure, I asked a simple question regarding the change machine. She proceeded to not only mock the way I was inserting the coins, but proceeded to blame me for the obviously old machine jamming & scolding me repeatedly. I said very little although I was shocked at her behavior, then walked away with a smile, reminding her to "choose happy".
