It's somehow comforting and relaxing. I took my non-working watch here today and had an assistant fix my watch. In 10 minutes, I had paid my inexpensive bill and my watch was working again. I am VERY happy to have stopped by and supported a small, local business. I highly recommend this clock shop! My lovely working watch! Very happy with the quick service and SO glad my watch works again. Yay! Who knew such a great little shop was available in Lewis County? I live in Olympia and I cannot find a place that will change batteries in watches for less than 15. This place does it for 5!!!!! Jerry was quick, and efficient. He is very quiet and not a real talker but don't mistake that for poor service. He changed my broken watch band for 7 (for a leather band!). He did a great job and now I have 5 watches, that were just sitting in a drawer unused, to choose from each day! Lewis County is lucky to have this little hidden gem of a business in their community!
Mar 30, 2015 ... Jerry Sullivan, owner of Jerry's Clock Shop in downtown Chehalis, ... He completed a two-year program for watch and clock repair in Tacoma. Jerry’s Clock Shop a Timeless Fixture in Downtown Chehalis Jerry Sullivan, owner of Jerry's Clock Shop in downtown Chehalis, points to one of the many walls of his shop decorated with various types of clocks on Wednesday, March 18. Posted Monday, March 30, 2015 10:24 am By Kaylee Osowski / kosowski@chronline.com For 20 years now, customers of one particular store in downtown Chehalis have been greeted with ticking. On the walls hang decades old antique clocks; opposite of them hang novelty cat clocks. Watches are displayed in a glass case, and standing regally near the door are a few grandfather clocks — a couple of which were made in the mid- to late-1700s. While some may find the ticking to be too much, Jerry Sullivan, owner of Jerry’s Clock Shop, said it doesn’t bother him. “The first time I went in a clock shop I thought it sounded like rain,” he said. This month, Sullivan is celebrating 20 years in business changing watch batteries and repairing stopped timepieces. Sullivan’s interest in watches and clocks started as a hobby collecting clocks in the 1970s. He got to know some clockmakers, who taught him a few things. He completed a two-year program for watch and clock repair in Tacoma. The program was discontinued shortly after he finished it. “They said it was a dying trade and they closed it, the watch and clock part of it, which is a shame,” Sullivan said. “It had been there forever.” But Sullivan wasn’t discouraged by the end of the repair program or people telling him that people just buy “throw-away watches.”
