I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident We chose CareOne at Wayne for my brother because he was already in the CareOne rehab facility, and we felt that it would be the least traumatic for him. He wouldn't have to move by ambulance. He could just move upstairs. The room that we were shown when we first checked it out looked comfortable and clean, and the people seemed very friendly. He came in very sick. And I feel that if he was in better health, CareOne probably would be an ideal place for him. But as he is now, they don't have the skilled nursing that I feel that he needs. They don't have a nurse on call all night, so getting medication for him during the night is very difficult. The facility is kept clean. The housekeeping staff is very nice and thorough. Everything is cleaned a few times a day. His bed is cleaned and he is cleaned. When I'm there, everyone is lovely. He sometimes calls me to get someone to come to his room. Sometimes, I feel that he's not checked often enough. Just having a nurse call button when you're in crisis, they don't come quick enough. Even if I call late at night, it's very difficult to get connected to a nurse or an aide on his floor. Here's someone that's not eating and they insist on delivering way too much food every day that is just being wasted. They said it's the law that they have to bring in milk, tea, potatoes, and vegetables. So, it's an absolute waste. The nurses are very thorough. The aides are probably overworked and resentful. Most of the reception staff is extremely welcoming until you ask a question.
