California Department of Education Home Data & Statistics School Performance California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) California School Information Services (CSIS) Contains information about the organization supporting the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) and local educational agencies in data submissions. CSIS is a division of the Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT). The FCMAT/CSIS was statutorily authorized in 1997 with the mission to: Build the capacity of local educational agencies (LEAs) to implement and maintain comparable, effective, and efficient student information systems that will support LEA daily program needs and promote the use of information for decision making by school, district, and county staff. Enable the accurate and timely exchange of student data. Assist LEAs in transmitting data electronically to the California Department of Education (CDE) for federal and state reporting, thereby reducing the reporting burden of LEA staff. Assist LEAs in assigning and maintaining statewide student identifiers (SSIDs). CSIS is a division of FCMAT, which is under the administrative oversight of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. The primary role of FCMAT/CSIS is to support the CDE in the maintenance and operations of CALPADS. This data system is the foundation of California’s K–12 education data system. It maintains individual-level data including student demographic, program participation, grade level, enrollment, course enrollment and completion, discipline, state assessment, teacher assignment, and other data required to meet state and federal reporting requirements. Data are linked longitudinally using unique, non-personally identifiable SSIDs. While CALPADS is a CDE-owned data system, in collaboration with the CDE, CSIS provides technical assistance, support, and training to LEAs and provides technical support and maintenance of CALPADS, including requirements, programming, testing, configuration/deployment, and maintenance functions. In addition, the division supports the critical Department of Justice (DOJ) information technology infrastructure. The CJIS Division is also the bridge for these services to the federal and other states’ criminal justice agencies. The Division includes eight sections: Application Development Bureau is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the DOJ's statewide criminal justice information systems, supporting the Division of Law Enforcement's applications, providing analytical reporting and information services. Justice Data & Investigative Services Bureau is composed of three branches that offer investigative and field service functions to criminal justice and public safety partners, regulatory agencies, and the people of California. Share via Facebook Share via Twitter Share via LinkedIn Share via Email Contact Us Translate Settings CALIFORNIA Public Utilities Commission 2‑1‑1 is a free telephone number providing access to local community services. 2‑1‑1 is available in multiple languages, allowing those in need to access information and obtain referrals to physical and mental health resources; housing, utility, food, and employment assistance; and suicide and crisis interventions. 2‑1‑1 also provides disaster preparedness, response, and recovery during declared emergencies. Disaster-Only 2-1-1 Dialing Implementation 2-1-1 services are operated by county-based entities that coordinate with local human services agencies and by providers who connect callers to local community services. These entities and providers are members of the California Association of Information and Referral Services (CAIRS) and partners of 2-1-1 California, which works with local, state, and federal government agencies on social services and coordinates with regional 2-1-1 service providers during emergencies and disasters. Each individual service provider establishes and maintains a database of community service programs and agencies for the county or counties it serves and updates the database at least once annually. To provide 2-1-1 service, providers and entities first apply to the Commission for authority to provide these services. The Commission reviews the application for compliance with Commission requirements, a process that takes around six to twelve months. If the Commission approves the application, the provider must roll out service within one year.
