If you're looking for a unique experience in the heart of Oregon's wine country, look no further than Blue Mountain Lavender Farm. Located just outside of Dayton, this family-owned farm is a hidden gem that offers visitors a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of nature.
Blue Mountain Lavender Farm was founded in 2006 by Tom and Lois Dunkelberger. The couple fell in love with lavender during a trip to Europe and decided to bring their passion back home to Oregon. They started with just a few plants but quickly expanded their operation, planting over 4,000 lavender plants on their 10-acre farm.
Today, Blue Mountain Lavender Farm is one of the largest lavender farms in Oregon. The Dunkelbergers are dedicated to sustainable farming practices and use organic methods to grow their lavender.
When you visit Blue Mountain Lavender Farm, you'll be surrounded by fields of fragrant lavender. The farm is open from May through September, when the lavender is in bloom. Visitors can wander through the fields, taking in the sights and scents of over 20 different varieties of lavender.
In addition to the lavender fields, there's also a gift shop where you can purchase handmade lavender products such as soaps, lotions, essential oils, and sachets. You can also buy fresh-cut bunches of lavender to take home with you.
The farm is open from May through September, when the lavender is in bloom. The best time to visit is in late June or early July when the fields are at their peak.
No, there's no admission fee to visit Blue Mountain Lavender Farm. However, donations are accepted.
Dogs are not allowed on the farm due to health regulations.
If you can't make it to Blue Mountain Lavender Farm in person, you can still enjoy their handmade lavender products by ordering online. Their product line includes:
