AMSOIL is a well-known brand in the world of synthetic lubricants, and it has recently introduced a new product, called the AMSOIL 81 Diesel Fuel Additive. In this blog post, we'll go over what AMSOIL 81 is, how it works, and why you need it for your diesel engine.
AMSOIL 81 is a diesel fuel additive designed to clean your engine while enhancing its performance. It is formulated with advanced detergency and lubricity agents, which help to remove deposits from your fuel system and keep it running smoothly.
AMSOIL 81 is compatible with all types of diesel fuel, including ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD), biodiesel, and diesel blends. It is also safe for use with all diesel engines, including those equipped with emissions-control devices such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.
AMSOIL 81 works by cleaning your engine from the inside out. Its advanced detergency agents dissolve and remove harmful deposits such as carbon, varnish, and sulfur that can build up in your fuel system over time. This is important because these deposits can harm your engine's performance, reduce fuel economy, and increase emissions.
AMSOIL 81 also provides excellent lubricity, which is essential for protecting your engine's fuel injection system against wear and tear. The lubricity agents in AMSOIL 81 reduce friction between metal components, which can extend the life of your engine and reduce maintenance costs.
If you own a diesel engine, AMSOIL 81 is a must-have product. Here are some of the benefits of using AMSOIL 81:
AMSOIL 81 can help to restore your engine's performance by cleaning your fuel system and improving combustion efficiency. This can lead to better acceleration, more power, and improved fuel economy.
By removing harmful deposits from your engine, AMSOIL 81 can help to reduce emissions and improve air quality. This is especially important for diesel engines, which are known to produce higher levels of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides than gasoline engines.
AMSOIL 81 provides excellent lubricity, which can help to reduce wear and tear on your engine's fuel injection system. This can extend the life of your engine and reduce maintenance costs over time.
AMSOIL 81 is easy to use – simply add it to your diesel fuel tank before filling up. The recommended treat rate is one ounce per five gallons of diesel fuel.
A: Yes, AMSOIL 81 is safe for use with all diesel engines, including those equipped with emissions-control devices such as DPFs and SCR systems.

Anyone switched from conventional oil to Amsoil SAE 60 Synthetic Racing Oil (AHR) in a shovelhead with improved results? or does it make that much of a difference? RE: Synthetic oil for '81 shovelhead? I would not use synthetic oil in that engine unless you are certain the gaskets are all the same materials technology used after 1995. ( which I doubt). The materials technology used back then is questionable with regard to compatibility with syn oils. It might work fine but you could get leaking issues that are a PITA to repair and costly as well. If that bike isn't leaking your best sticking with conventional HD360 20w50. JMHO.You can also use Bel-Ray 85w140 in the trans as that is dino as well.
