Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Taxidermy?

Taxidermy is the art of preserving a dead animal's body by stuffing or mounting it for display or study purposes. It involves removing the skin, preserving it with chemicals, and then shaping it over a mannequin or form to create a lifelike mount.

How long does the taxidermy process take?

The time it takes to complete a taxidermy project depends on the size and complexity of the mount. A small bird may take a few weeks, while a larger mammal could take several months. The team at Allison's Taxidermy Studio will give you an estimate of the timeline for your project.

What materials are used for taxidermy?

Good quality taxidermy uses materials such as glass eyes, foam, artificial skulls, and wire. At Allison's Taxidermy Studio, the team only uses top-quality materials that meet the highest standards in taxidermy.

Start your review today. I wouldn't recommend Allison's to anyone. They were dishonest about how long the bird would take. Initially they told us the bird would take a year and it ended up taking a year and a half. If they would've been honest about how long the bird was going to take we would've been happy to wait a year and a half. If you say a year I'm going to be expecting the bird in a year, I don't think that's unreasonable. But instead we waited a year while they strung us a long saying "it will be ready next week" and "we're just putting the finishing touches on it" for 6 months. It seems like they take on more business than they can reasonably handle and then aren't honest about how long the bird will take since they would probably lose due business to the wait time. One of our friends has been waiting 2+ years to get a duck back that was supposed to take 1 year. We spoke with one of the owners when picking up our bird and we expressed we were upset by this. He told us "it is what it is, we aren't the only taxidermy place in town". We did not get back the same bird back we dropped off, we dropped off a very unique pheasant. The bird we got back had a lot shorter tail feathers and shorter spurs. 0 other reviews that are not currently recommended 421 N Dewey St North Platte, NE 69101 Verify to immediately update business information, respond to reviews, and more!
